Hello, my name is C Nieberding, the majority of my work is in drawing and painting. My work is built around line, texture, composition, portraying emotions, capturing a subject’s personality, and creating moody environments.

Who am I

I am an artist that focuses on representing people. When I was a kid, I made tons of drawings of stick figures in action sequences, with strong personalities and motion with simple figures. Later on in High school I began learning figure drawing, capturing the motion and personality of a figure. Personhood has played an important role in all of my work. Each work has its own personality, with some focusing on the wonder that can be found in our daily lives, or representing the feelings that we all share. Recently I've returned my focus to representation of the human figure, where personality and identity can be shown through posture and motion.

Projects

My most recent project is 21 Portraits, a piece where I drew family and friends using charcoal on 2 x 3 inch rectangles of cardboard. This piece is about our social networks and how integral they are to identity.
